waveform-image

Generate a waveform image.

Purpose

Generate a PNG file that represents a given waveform graphically.

Usage

const waveformImage = require('waveform-image');
 
(async () => {
    try {
    await waveformImage('/path/to/file.wav', '/path/to/output/image.png');
    // '/path/to/output/image.png' should now exist
    } catch (error) {
    // something went wrong
    console.error(error);
    }
})();

ffmpeg-static and ffprobe-static are optional dependencies. If they are not installed, ffprobe and ffmpeg are assumed to exist in the path.

API

waveformImage(input, output)

Returns a Promise that is fulfilled when output has been created.

This module is installed via npm:

$ npm install waveform-image
