in many environments, we are seeing a lot of customers needing to install the latest updates to windows 7 and windows server 2008 r2. unfortunately, these newer operating systems have the new windows search feature, which is incompatible with many enterprise applications.
even though the search feature is enabled by default, it is easy to disable. there is a registry entry in the hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\windowssearch\redirectsearches to redirect searches to indexing server, you can find this on your pc by going to:
