Generate a search website using Google CSE

Note: This project is still a Work-in-progress.

Installation

Step 1

Install Yeoman and generator-custom-search using npm (we assume you have pre-installed node.js).

npm install -g yo
npm install -g generator-custom-search

Step 2

• If you haven't already, add a new Custom Search Engine and keen the Search engine ID handy.
• If you want to track analytics, get a GA Tracking ID too.

Step 3

Then generate your new project:

yo custom-search

Step 4

In the Google CSE Dashboard, pick the following options:

• Look and feel > Layout > Results only
• Look and feel > Themes > Classic

Step 5

Upload and share ✌️

Getting To Know Yeoman

• Yeoman has a heart of gold.
• Yeoman is a person with feelings and opinions, but is very easy to work with.
• Yeoman can be too opinionated at times but is easily convinced not to be.
