the third scene is similar to the first scene, but it comes with a smaller resolution, i.e. 1280×720, and the whole scene needs to be rendered twice. you will see the first render is quite clean, even with the same set of materials and lights as in the second scene. after that, you will get a very different result, even if these 2 scenes are actually one and the same.
the fourth scene is also the same as the first scene, but the camera set is using 4k as a final resolution. due to the huge resolution, octane should show a much higher resolution and better images than redshift. in fact, octane shows clearer image, better textured, and there are better definition in the shadows. however, the problem happens that the viewport and 4k images are always at default size, while redshift can process those 4k images differently.
the fifth scene is called fog. the environment is a water tank with a smoke machine to make a mist effect. the camera is set to 1024×720, with a ssao and volume collapse set. we have just set this scene in redshift, so we will compare with octane. they show very similar images, but there is a gap around the object, and the redshift render is with a filter called
