If you have upgraded to the Creators Update, and running creatorsupdate.exe, you will need to exit out of Adobe Creator and restart Adobe Illustrator. Afterwards when running Adobe Illustrator on a machine with the Creators Update installed, you will be prompted to restart the Adobe Creator application.
To resolve this error, you can either return to the original Creators Update release by replacing the Amtlib.dll file with one from the original Creators Update release, or you can use the Verify Adobe Support option to troubleshoot this error. The Verify Adobe Support option will run Adobe Illustrator and attempt to load the Amtlib.dll file as a test. If the Verify Adobe Support completes successfully without error, the error will be resolved.
Although update just means copying the original file to the appropriate location. If the Amtlib.dll is already properly located within your deployment package, you may need to update the deployment package version information to reflect the new file, since the generated.pkgdef files only contain the Amtlib.dll version that was used to create them.
