Lotide

A mini clone of the Lodash library.

Purpose

BEWARE: This library was published for learning purposes. It is not intended for use in production-grade software.

This project was created and published by me as part of my learnings at Lighthouse Labs.

Usage

Install it:

npm install @pgupta-98/lotide

Require it:

const _ = require('@pgupta-98/lotide');

Call it:

const results = _.tail([1, 2, 3]) // => [2, 3]

Documentation

The following functions are currently implemented:

  • assertArraysEqual(array1, array2): checks equality of two arrays
  • assertEqual(actual, expected): checks if two inputs are equal
  • assertObjectsEqual(actual, expected): uses eqObjects to assert equlaity
  • countLetters(string): counts the occurance of each letter in a string
  • countOnly(array, object): counts the occurance of each value in an array
  • eqArrays(array1, array2): checks equality of length of two arrays
  • eqObjects(object1, object2): checks equality of two objects
  • findKey(object, callback): finds an object key according to criteria specified
  • findKeyByValue(object, value): finds an object key by value specified
  • head(array): returns first element of an array
  • letterPositions(string): returns indices of the letter positions of a string in an array
  • map(array, callback): returns an array acccording to callback function
  • middle(array): returns the middle element/s of an array
  • tail(array): returns all elements of an array except the first element
  • takeUntil(array, callback): returns an array until the callback condition is true
  • without(array1, array2): removes items in array2 from array1 and returns a new array
