Installation

Install globally uing yarn:

yarn global add what-color-is

Authorisation

To interact with Google services, you will need to create a new Custom Search Engine (CSE) and appropriate API Key.

what-color-si will look for these in a .env file alongside the shipped .env.example. This is normally found at:

  • ~/.config/yarn/global/node_modules/what-color-is/
  • /usr/local/share/.config/yarn/global/node_modules/what-color-is/

You can also manage these credentials by exporting them in your .bashrc or terminal session.

Once set up, you can just call it as

what-color-is 'lime green'
what-color-is 'a saxophone'
what-color-is 'heart'
