tgoma Development Package(TDP)

the only system where you can develop games for the trampoline... yes, you heard correctly.

if you are already famliar with git, typescript and mobile app deployment you may wish to take the hard path. here is the repository with all you really need... The Package and following instructions are very opinionated to ensure a smooth experience making it good for educational contexts

System Requirements

1. Node.js - Download
2. The Android Debug Bridge - Download with Android studio - Info

Getting started

npm install -g tgomadev  

• install the sandbox with adb install tgomaSandbox.apk from your home directory
• ensure node_modules is in your PATH enviromnet variable

now to set up your development directory

mkdir <YourGameTitle>
cd <YourGameTitle>
tgomadev init -t basic

• open tgoma_sandbox on the tablet at least once, create an account, and a user.
• Install an ftp server on the device(Reccomend FTPServer by Andreas Leibig)
• set user and password to tgomadev and tgomadev. and port to 2121.

now to get the app on your tablet

tgomadev deploy

• open the Sandbox and tap "My Game" you should see a few bouncing balls

now to get some input

1. Using the emulator

   tgaomadev emulate
   

   • Press the blue pull down tab to access the action bar and tap the grey slash connection icon, and enter the ip address of the system running the emulator(shown in the emulator side panel).

2. using the trampoline

   • ensure the tablet has bluetooth activated.
   • turn on the tgoma controller.
   • make sure there are no other devices that could steal your connection around!
   • wait for the icon to turn to a blue tick.

now you're ready to play!

open up src/screens/gameScreen.ts to see the game code.

when you make changes just rebuild the project and redeploy

tsc -t ES5 --out app.js src/refall.ts
tgomadev deploy

note that instead of using tgomadev deploy you can use and ftp client of your choice, this is useful for updating single files.
