This is happening because the package's manifest has an engines.node field specified.
To fix this issue, install the required Node version.

With engines field and engineStrict=true

The feature engineStrict was used prior to npm 3.0.0, and it was used to treat this package as if the user had set engine-strict. It is no longer used.
