streamback

Turn repeatedly called callbacks into streams. Pass a streamback!

$ component install juliangruber/streamback
# or
$ npm install streamback
var Streamback = require('streamback');

var articleStream = Streamback();
api.subscribe('article', articleStream.feed()); // gets called on every new article

articleStream.pipe(process.stdout);

If you need an EventEmitter instead and e.g. wan't to combine two sources, use juliangruber/fwd:

var fwd = require('fwd');
var EventEmitter = require('events').EventEmitter; // or require('emitter')
var Streamback = require('streamback');

var articleStream = Streamback();
var patternStream = Streamback();
api.subscribe('article', articleStream.feed());
api.subscribe('pattern', patternStream.feed());

var events = new EventEmitter();

fwd(articleStream, events, {'data': 'article'});
fwd(patternStream, events, {'data': 'pattern'});

events.on('article', function(){ ... });
events.on('pattern', function(){ ... });

// then you cold fwd `events` somewhere else

Returns a streamback stream.

Returns a function to be passed as callback.
