stream-write-read

2.0.3 • Public • Published

Build Status Coverage

node-stream-write-read

Write to a file, read when it's done

This writable stream can give you a readable stream that will wait for the file to be fully written before flowing

Installation

npm install --save stream-write-read

Usage

var WriteRead = require('stream-write-read');

var cache = WriteRead('/my/cache/folder/file');
cache.createReadable().pipe(destination);

source.pipe(cache);

Since pipelines are sexier, you can also do

var cache;
source
  .pipe(WriteRead('/my/path'))
  .affect(function () { cache = this })
  .pipe(destination)

that is, the readable side of a WriteRead stream is itself a readable stream from .createReadable()

Test

You can run the tests with npm test. You will need to know mocha
