Why?

When I first uploaded the justcord module to npm, I ran into issues regarding import/export of local modules in both TypeScript, and JavaScript. It came to my attention that native ES6 import/export was not supported in node.js! I was baffled, as this caused a huge roadblock in development for me as I relied on the native import/export syntax to allow JSDocs support for end-users. I'm also not fond of using the const <module> = require('path') format as it's both long to type out, and prone to complications. I understand I could use the npm module esm, or the file extension change from .js to .mjs, but those also came with limitations that were not worth my effort to deal with.

My solution:

I decided to continue using Node.js for it's library of useful server-side modules, however, utilize them as an extension to my library that is officially uploaded to GitHub under the name of justcord.js with support for both JavaScript and, (more preferably) TypeScript. I currently have a published module on npm under the name of justcord that is in it's non-working stage, along with the full version found on GitHub. The npm version will remain, however, I intend to update it in the event of full support of JavaScript's import/export syntax, or if I stabilize the library found on GitHub to be easily portable to npm.

Installation:

Navigate to the folder of choice that you intend on using for your justcord-based Discord application (this is also assuming the justcord library downloaded from GitHub is located there as well.)

npm install justcord-loader or npm i justcord-loader

Peer dependencies (you need to install these manually) are:

• typescript
• ts-node

Again, use npm i <module name> or npm install <module name> to install the modules. You can install them globally by including the -g or -global before the module name.
Example: npm i -g typescript

Done! You can now begin using my library!

Update v1.1.5:

• Moved declaration files to source folder
