grunt-nexus-release

release zip artifacts to a Nexus server

Getting Started

This plugin requires Grunt ~0.4.5

If you haven't used Grunt before, be sure to check out the Getting Started guide, as it explains how to create a Gruntfile as well as install and use Grunt plugins. Once you're familiar with that process, you may install this plugin with this command:

npm install grunt-nexus-release --save-dev

Once the plugin has been installed, it may be enabled inside your Gruntfile with this line of JavaScript:

grunt.loadNpmTasks('grunt-nexus-release');

Acknowledgement

This plugin is a copy of the grunt-maven-tasks plugin. It has been amended to more closely follow the cadence of the Java maven-release-plugin. This plugin operatates as follows:

  1. Check that there are no uncommitted changes
  2. Remove the -SNAPSHOT suffix from the version number.
  3. Commit the version number changes, tag the code, then push.
  4. Release the constructed artifact to Nexus.
  5. Up the version number (patch level) and restore the -SNAPSHOT suffix.
  6. Commit the version number changes, then push.

The "nexus_release" task

Overview

In your project's Gruntfile, add a section named nexus_release to the data object passed into grunt.initConfig().

grunt.initConfig({
  nexus_release: {
    options: {
      // Task-specific options go here.
    },
    release: {
      // Target-specific file lists and/or options go here.
    },
  },
});

This task packages and releases an artifact to a maven repository. It will update the version number in the package.json file to the next development version, and, if this is a git project, it will commit and tag the release.

The version number will have the patch number incremented.

In your project's Gruntfile, add a section named nexus_release to the data object passed into grunt.initConfig().
