Backbone one-to-one, one-to-many, and many-to-many relationships for the browser and nodejs.
npm install backbone-rels
Check out the test models for examples. Basically...
Rels = require 'backbone-rels'
You can optionally bind Rels to your own Backbone instance (rather than the stock one) like so...
Backbone = require 'backbone'Rels = require'backbone-rels' Backbone
You'll want to do this if you've overridden methods on Backbone, like
for example, and you want to maintain proper inheritance. This is not an issue
in the browser, however.
Once you have a
rels:modelA:hasOne: ModelAmyFk: 'modelAId'modelBs:hasMany: ModelBtheirFk: 'myModelId'modelCs:hasMany: ModelCvia: JoinModelmyViaFk: 'myModelId'theirViaFk: 'modelCId'model: MyModelurl: '/my-models'
With this structure in place, you can now do this...
myModel = MyModelnewmodelA = ModelAnewmyModelsetmodelA modelAmyModelget 'modelAId' # modelA.idmyModelgetmodelA # modelAmyModelgetmodelBs # ModelB.CollectionmyModelgetmodelCs # ModelC.CollectionmyModelgetmodelCsvia # JoinModel.CollectionmyModelgetmodelCsadd ModelCnewmyModelgetmodelCslength # 1myModelgetmodelCsvialength # 1
